British number two Dan Evans makes a good start in the qualifying rounds of Australian Open after an impressive win. Evans defeated Liang-Chi Huang with a 6-1 6-2 record in the first round of qualifiers in the Grand Slam tournament. He will face Marton Fucsovics of Hungary in his next match.
According to Evans, he is confident that he can qualify for the second straight Grand Slam. He also said that he had a good pre-season so he feels as good as anyone in the tournament does.
Evans is a main draw of a Grand Slam after Wimbledon. He also qualified for the US Open in August and is determined to repeat the performance in Melbourne. He said that he needed to play like his first match to put himself in good position in the matches to come.
